At Dr. Wenrick’s office, we see patients of various ages that are experiencing TMD-related symptoms. Due to the complexity of TMD, patients may experience only one of these symptoms or a mixture.
Signs and Symptoms include:
- Jaw pain and stiffness
- Limited ability to open or close mouth
- Popping, clicking, crunching, or grinding noises with movement of the jaw
- Abnormal facial pain or pressure
- Jaw fatigue
- Jaw locking
- Swelling around the jaw joint
- Change in bite
- Cracked teeth or damaged dental work
Symptoms that manifest elsewhere, but can be related to TMD:
- Headaches and/or migraines
- Earaches or ear stuffiness
- Tinnitus, i.e. ringing in the ear
- Neck pain and/or stiffness
