We promise to explain our standard of care for you. Our primary goal is to make an accurate diagnosis and successful treatment plan for your condition. This requires years and years of continuing education, on our part, and a strong ability to teach you about your conditions. We desire the best outcome for you and strive to be the helpful solution that reduces your pain.
We promise to help you understand how your medical and dental insurance policies aid in the treatment of TMJ Disorders, dental conditions, and sleep disorders, as well. Deciphering how insurance works is not always enjoyable, but we understand how many people carry insurance, so we are continuously training in this area in order to answer insurance questions with more knowledge.
We promise to teach you all that we know about your TMJ and Dental structures, and their conditions. After a very thorough evaluation of your TMJ and related structures, we will physically show you images and illustrations of your jaw joint anatomy and dental related structures. We will always allow extended and appropriate time to answer all questions you may have in a quiet, comfortable and relaxing environment.
We promise to help you understand everything about your pain. No two people have the exact same level, site, and source of pain. We will thoroughly assess YOUR painful symptoms and teach you where we believe the pain has developed. Following this discussion, a detailed treatment plan will be discussed, along with expected outcomes. We will give you the best and worst-case scenario. We will also teach you about why certain treatments are successful and why some may fail.
We promise to teach you everything we know about the close relationship between your TMJ’s, your bite, and your airway space. Although there are many different theories about this relationship, we will be very detailed and direct. We will teach you about your bite and how your jaw joints (TMJ’s) are supporting your bite and airway space, or lack thereof.
We promise to help you understand how dislocated discs in the TMJ’s can be directly related to sleep breathing disorders, such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea. We will show you this link with images known as MRI’s and CT scans. We will teach you about the various appliances that are used for treating TMJ Disorders and Sleep Disorders. We will further explain our opinion of each and why we favor certain appliances versus others.
We promise that if we do not know the answer to a question you may have, we will work diligently to find the answer. From time to time, certain solutions to pain, joint dysfunction, and/or dental dysfunction may require us to bring another specialist on board to collaborate for your treatment. This could involve physical therapy, orthodontics, surgery, and others.
