Symptoms of OSA

A person of any age can suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It is estimated that 22 million Americans suffer from OSA, with 80% of the moderate to severe cases undiagnosed.

Signs and Symptoms of OSA

Signs and symptoms of OSA are different among children and adults.

Adults
  • Snoring
  • Cessation of breathing while sleeping
  • Gasping in sleep
  • Mouth breathing
  • Increase heart rate and/or blood pressure
  • Night sweats
  • Heartburn
  • Fatigue
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Frequent headaches
Children

OSA in children shares the symptomology of other common disorders, such as ADHD. Often times, children are misdiagnosed with a behavioral disorder when they might have OSA.
